Picnic Ride Sunday, August 26 to Castle Rock State Park
motopokep: Meeting place: BP on corner of 83 / 45 (Mundelein) Meeting time: 9:00 am, fill up, kickstands up 9:15 sharp Type: cruiser or sport Pace: medium, when in unfamiliar territory Destination: Castle Rock State Park, 94 miles country roads Activity: grilling meat at Castle Rock State Park, Oregon, IL We ride 92 miles country roads to the destination: There are picnic areas with grills. Everyone takes whatever meat they want to throw on the grill (1-2 pounds), plus a tomato, cucumber, onion, or whatever vegetable satisfies your needs. Bring a small amount of charcoal (hardwood lump preferred over briquiettes), about 2 pounds. This amount nicely fits into any backpack, tankbag, or saddlebag. I suggest everyone also bring a legal size knife for their use and/or a plastic fork, and napkins. Bring a beverage of your choice. Don't take too much food. The idea is not to make a 5 hour feast out of this. We get there by 11 or so. Grill, b.s., and photos till 1, and back home by 3. I know of 2 people who are in already. If you're coming, DO bring those items (there is no such thing as free lunch) DO post up if you're coming, as it will encourage others to join.
